Katie Holmes And Suri Have Ice Cream In NYC While Tom Cruise Celebrates 50th Birthday In LA

It was supposed to be big family celebration for Tom Cruise, who turned 50 today, but instead the actor was dealing with the shock of Katie Holmes’ recent divorce filing, as he flew hone from Iceland to LA alone this afternoon.

As Tom headed back to his empty million Beverly Hills mansion, which is conveniently located near Scientology’s West Coast base, his soon-to-be ex-wife was enjoying a sweet ice cream treat with daughter Suri in NYC.

Holmes filed for full custody of their 6-year-old daughter, and it’s been reported that she was pushed over the edge after the devote Scientologist was planning to send his only biological child on Sea Org; a religious order.

The intense program is partly paid for by Will Smith, and takes place abroad a ship that condones harsh conditions and is currently being investigated by the FBI for human trafficking violations.

Since filing for divorce from the Mission Impossible star, Katie has beefed up her security team, who is said to be protecting her from heavily armed gunmen thought to be Scientologists monitoring the actress’ every move.

Despite all the drama surrounding one of Hollywood’s most famous couples, Holmes appears to be happy with her newly single status, and free to enjoy a sweet treat with her darling little girl just like everybody else!
