A mother and daughter living in an estate in Hingurugamuwa, Badulla have been hacked to death in their beds by an unidentified group, reports say.
The 80 year old mother and the 55 year old daughter had both died.
Another daughter (60) who was in another room of the house, has been admitted to the Badulla Hospital with grievous injuries.
Further investigations are underway.
