216 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed yesterday (29) by the Director-General of Health Services.
This is the highest single-day increase in Sri Lanka since the pandemic began last year. This is the 4th consecutive day the daily death toll has passed the 200 mark.
Accordingly, the current COVID-19 death toll is at 8,991.
