The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided to form a political alliance under the leadership of the party, said the party’s senior vice chairman Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa.
Accordingly, they have decided to reactivate the United People’s Freedom Alliance led by the SLFP.
We decided what the party’s path would be, how to build the party for an alternative government, and how to organize for it. Under the leadership of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, there were alliances based on the formation of governments under previous governments. The Central Committee took a decision to reactivate the People’s United Front and the United People’s Freedom Alliance to unite all the leftist patriotic nationalist parties in Sri Lanka and the parties outside Parliament to form that alliance. Accordingly, we hope to carry out those activities in the future. “
Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa stated this while expressing his views to the media in Kandy yesterday (31).
