It is reported that the Chief Signals Officer’s Office at the Army Headquarters has informed all its locations to deactivate the recording applications on the mobile phones used by the Army personnel.
The announcement is said to have been made in view of the exposure of sensitive military information to outsiders by recording calls and thereby posing a threat to national security as well as sensitive military information.
The order states that the recording devices included by the manufacturer of mobile phones used by all Army personnel should not be allowed to operate and that new applications should not be allowed to be added.
The notice states that the heads of the institutions should ensure that the staff members of their institutions have disabled and do not use the recording equipment and that the head of the institution should take the responsibility if any such recording incident is reported.
