Cement importers have stated that the price of cement could increase further.
They point out that this situation has arisen due to the rise in cement prices in the world market.
Therefore, they said that the current cost per sack of cement exceeds Rs. 1,300, adding that prices could rise further in the future.
With the recent deregulation of cement by the government, companies announced a new price of Rs. 1,090 per bag of cement.
However, the cement traders warn that under the current situation, the price per bag of cement could rise further exceeding Rs. 1,300.
This is bound to greatly impact on the cost of construction. Currently, the construction industry has been hampered due to the shortage of cement.
