
The number of births has decreased by about 10,000 per year in the last decade, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Association President Dr. Sanath Lanerolle said.
Speaking at a news briefing held at the Health Promotion Bureau yesterday (07), Dr. Lanerolle said the doctors are conducting a study in this regard.
He said that about 300,000 births take place in Sri Lanka every year on an average basis but the number of births has decreased by 10,000 per year in the last decade.
