Uber Eats and PickMe (Food), two of the most popular food delivery service providers in the suburbs of Colombo, Kandy and Negombo have been increasingly exploiting consumers.
However, Chairman of the National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection – Ranjith Vithanage says he is suspicious as to why the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has failed to seek legal action against this so far.
He stated this at a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday (28).
He also said that these two companies were continuing to exploit customers by increasing their prices.
He also revealed that one of these companies receive money as dollar transactions.
