The Cabinet of Ministers decided to purchase another 23 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
Accordingly, 09 million doses of Sinopharm and 14 million doses of Pfizer are to be purchased at the unit price decided by the Negotiating Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers for the vaccine requirements.
This is in order to vaccinate all individuals over the age of 18 by Sep. 30, 2021, in order to curb the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Approval to import more Oxygen
Meanwhile, Cabinet approval has been granted to import 360,000 litres of liquid medicinal Oxygen in addition to the monthly general import of 120,000 liters of liquid medicinal Oxygen.
According to the Department of Government Information, this measure was taken so that sufficient stocks of Oxygen can be stored within the country as the number of patients depending on Oxygen had increased due to the spread of the new Covid – 19 variant at present.
Earlier, the Cabinet approval was granted to import and store 120,000 litres of liquid Oxygen monthly.
