Former President Maithripala Sirisena says that the government has messed up all economic, political and international issues.
The former President said this at a program held in Pita Kotte yesterday afternoon (26).
“The question that arises today is how to build the lives of the people. Today we have messed up politics, the economy, the social crisis and the international community.
Many are questioning the government as to why they are not seeking the assistance of the IMF and that they could get some relief to solve this economic crisis. However, some government big shots are adamant not to seek IMF assistance.
During my tenure of five years and almost 1 ½ months I worked with the IMF, but they did not impose any serious conditions. In certain conditions, I stood my ground that those could not be implemented and they accepted it.”
