The foundation stone for a new flyover at Kohuwala junction had taken place even without the knowledge of Danasiri Amaratunga, who is the SLPP’s chief organizer of the Dehiwala electorate.
Highways Minister Johnston Fernando and Hungarian Trade and Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new flyover at Kohuwala junction on Jan. 12.
The flyover at the Kohuwala junction will be constructed with financial aid from the Hungarian government at a cost of Rs.2,648 million. The overhead bridge would be 297 meters in length and 9.4 meters in width overarching a four-lane road connecting Nugegoda and Kalubowila controlled by traffic signals.
The project is to be completed within 22 months.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Amaratunga had seen the event while travelling across Nugegoda for a private purpose.
In his post, Mr. Amaratunga had exclaimed his regret and happiness saying that after their momentous efforts to bring the government into power, government bigwigs are now slighting them.
