A fundamental rights petition has been filed against the decision to direct General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union – Joseph Stalin to a quarantine centre.
The FR claims that Mr. Stalin’s fundamental rights have been violated through the move.
The petitioner is also seeking a Rs. 100,000-compensation over the incident.
The petition cites the IGP, Senior DIG in-charge of the Western Provision, several other police officers and the Director General of Health Services as respondents.
