The Extraordinary Gazette Notification was issued by the Secretary to the President Gamini Senarath on the orders of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
According to the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2266/55 dated 11.02.2022, the following services have been declared as essential services in terms of the powers vested in the President.
1 – Electricity supply.
2 – all services, work or labour, of any description whatsoever, necessary or required to be done in connection with the maintenance, and the reception, care feeding, and treatment, of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries, and other similar institutions as essential services.
