Gnanasara Committee calls for report on radio channels!

The Presidential Task Force for One Country One Law headed by Ven. Gnanasara Thera has requested report on the criteria used in the preparation of radio programs and the recommendations used in selecting the resource persons for those programs.

The request was made following an allegation that extremist views were being spread through radio programs.

It is reported that the Secretary of the Task Force has forwarded the request to the Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information Jagath P. Wijeweera and he has forwarded the request to all radio stations on November under his signature.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information states that the Secretary of the Task Force had informed him of this in a letter dated November 12.

It is said that the Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information had instructed all radio stations to submit a report on the above requests prior to December 08.
