Sri Lanka women’s cricket team Head Coach Hashan Tillakaratne has tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday (02).
Earlier, the team’s fast bowling coach – Ravindra Pushpakumara too, had also tested positive for Covid-19.
The news came barely a week before the women’s team was set to depart to Malaysia for an important World Cup Qualifier Tournament. The team was set to leave on Jan. 08.
Accordingly, the team management has been compelled to call on Hashan’s assistant coach Lanka Silva as his replacement.
According to reports, Hashan has caught the infection from the team’s computer analyst, who had tested positive earlier.
Sri Lanka women’s cricket team, the support staff, and the management team of around 30 persons, are currently staying in a bio-security bubble at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel in Colombo following the stipulated Covid-19 health protocols. They are engaged in their practices at the P. Sara Stadium.
