Legislation is being drafted to reduce rice prices in the next 2-3 weeks, Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena said.
Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo today (21), the minister also assured that the prices of Nadu and Kekulu will not increase Rs. 100.
He also stated that cabinet approval has been granted to increase the present fine of Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 100,000/- for selling rice at a higher price.
