Minister of Water Supply media unit informed that the news item published on a website today, “Vasu has a heart attack, in the intensive care unit of the hospital” is a malicious anti-government fabrication and a false statement. However, the Hon. Minister was instructed to get admitted to a hospital in Colombo for a medical check-up.
Hon. Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara was elected from the Kiriella electorate in 1970 and was elected to the Parliament with the Hon. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa from the Ratnapura District on a number of occasions. He was never elected as a National List MP. However, it is unfortunate that the news article on this website has stated a number of false and malicious information to mislead the public.
Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara, a great leader of the Sri Lankan Left Movement, is the leader of the Democratic Left Front.
He is scheduled to leave the hospital tomorrow.
