Namal Rajapaksa will be removing Anuradha Wijekoon, the Secretary to the Ministry of Youth Affairs, and Saman Waduge, its Additional Secretary, in the next reshuffle, according to reliable sources.
It is said that their removal is due to the two of them supporting the businessmen who have been accused of fraudulently making money even during the good governance period.
The closest incident to these allegations is the special interest shown by them to pay Rs. 3 million to Ranjith Electronics, for decorating the ‘Youth City’ in Weerawila in 2019.
It was claimed that the relevant company had sent a letter to Namal Rajapaksa stating that they had to be paid Rs. 3 million for the electrical decorations and the Youth Affairs Additional Secretary Saman D. Waduge had in turn sent a letter to the Director General of the National Youth Services Council notifying him to pay the said sum.

However, upon inquiry regarding this matter, the Youth Affairs Minister said that he had not received such a letter and he had not issued instructions to pay the said company.
It is said that this suspicion has deepened further due to the fact that the relevant letter to the Minister under the letterhead ‘Ranjith Electronics’ has no signature on it.
