The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government has decided to issue a new circular regarding the dress code of government officials.
Ministry Secretary Priyantha Mayadunne said instructions have been given to draft the new circular.
A circular has already been issued that female government officials can wear a Saree, Osariya, or any other suitable office attire.
However, the Ministry Secretary said that some people only implement the first part of the circular and have forgotten the part that mentions “a suitable office attire”.
Therefore, it has been decided to issue a new circular allowing the government officials to wear suitable office attire.
