No online classes today as strike by principals and teachers enters 7th day

Trade union strike by the principals and teachers has entered the sixth day and the unions say they will continue the strike today too.

The trade unions say so far, the government has failed to provide  solutions to resolve the salary anomalies faced by the teachers and principals.

Until acceptable solutions are given to their issues faced by the teachers and principles, the strike would continue, said Mahinda Jayasinghe, Secretary of the Lanka Teachers Association.

For the last six days, teachers have refrained from online teaching which has caused many hardships to the students.

Meanwhile, another trade union activist Joseph Stalin who was freed from the quarantine center in Mullaitivu arrived at his home last night.

Separately, Frontline Socialist Party’s Propaganda Secretary Duminda Nagamuwa and others who were being kept at the quarantine center at the Pallekele were also released on Friday.
