The Department of Registration of Persons announced that the One-Day service to issue National Identity Cards will resume from Oct. 25 for those who make reservations.
A statement by the department of Registration of Persons said that it was decided to offer the One-Day service to a limited number of applicants in order to avoid large gatherings.
The service will be provided at the Battaramulla Health Office and the Southern Province Office in Galle.
Those who wish to obtain this service must forward a certified application to the Divisional Secretariat Branch of the Department and make a reservation and if an applicant fails to be present on the given date, the application will be returned to the Divisional Secretariat and another reservation needs to be made.
Applicants who wish to obtain the NIC via the normal service can continue to do so by making a reservation for the respective date and obtain the NIC, and those applications can be forwarded by the Grama Niladhari Officer as well.
