Chairman of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) Dr. Rasitha Wijewantha said that legal action would be filed against the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), holding the agency responsible for the missing NMRA data from the Lanka Govt Cloud (LGC) -internet databank.
Chairman of the All Ceylon Government Medical Officers Association, Dr. Gishantha Dassanayake stated that the internet database in question has army intelligence and state secrets stored as well, and is maintained via Sri Lanka Telecom.
He further stated that a complaint in this regard has been lodged at the CID three weeks ago and that the CID is yet to conduct a proper investigation. The CID is yet to record the statements of the four officials who have the password to the database, he added.
