Govt. MP Geetha Kumarasinghe has rebuked the recent decision to reopen liquor shops, likening the move to the appointing of a ‘scientific cabinet’.
Speaking at a media briefing in Bentota, the MP said that this was like destroying all hope of getting a bountiful crop by releasing all the water in Tank to the fields at one go, although each drop was initially collected with the hope of a rich harvest.
I would like to know who takes these idiotic decisions, she said adding that even she will not be able to visit her area as an MP.
Any idiot can understand that it is not appropriate to open a liquor store at this point. Even a primary school child would have the sense to say this, she further added.
