State minister of Batik – Dayasiri Jayasekera has stated the PM’s son – Rohitha Rajapaksa is not a challenge for him, who was born and bred in the Wayamba province.
The state minister had said thus while speaking to journalists after an event in Kurunegala today (13).
Noting that there are rumours that Rohitha Rajapaksa is to contest the upcoming Wayamba provincial Council polls, the state minister said that it will not be a challenge for him.
“No one is a challenge to me – who has been born and bred in the Wayamba province. The people of the North Western Province treat me just as well as they did in the past. Therefore, I believe that they will do the same at the PC polls,” he said.
He also said that the fertilizer issue had not affected him as farmers are well aware of who he was. “Unlike others, this Dayasiri Jayasekera is still able to go to the village. I have always been with the people and will continue to do so,” he said.
However, if the fertilizer issue is not sorted out soon, it will become an issue that will destroy President Gotabaya Rajapaksa as well as the government, he further said.
