President instructs to immediately revise circulars impeding development

Sept 09, Colombo: President Ranil Wickramasinghe instructed the officials to revise the circulars immediately if there is any obstacle in the implementation of the development projects, President’s Media Division said.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe gave these instructions chairing a discussion held at the President’s Office today (09) to examine the progress of several ongoing and proposed development projects in the country based on Indian investment cooperation.
Indian Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Vinod Jacob also participated in the discussion.
The President instructed the secretaries of the ministries and government officials to take immediate steps to resolve the obstacles that have arisen regarding the progress of several projects in Sri Lanka under Indian investments.
The President explained the need to promptly correct the provisions contained in the circulars issued by previous governments from time to time if they hinder development.
President’s Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor on National Security Sagala Ratnayake, Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy Mr. Mapa Pathirana and other ministry secretaries and government officials attended the discussion.
