The Archdiocese of Colombo has requested the public to raise black flags in every household today (21) in a symbolic silent protest, as justice has still not been served over the Easter Sunday bomb blasts.
This request comes in the wake of disappointment over the President’s response to the letter sent by the National Catholic Proclamation Committee earlier, which detailed their dissatisfaction with the measures taken against the perpetrators up to now.
The death knell will be rung at all churches at 8.45 am today to commemorate those who died from the bomb blasts while prayer services will be held from 8.45 am – 9.45 am.
Catholics were also requested to say the rosary from 7 am to 8 am.
