Reverse gazette lifting the fertilizer ban is still missing

It has been five days since the ban on the import of chemical fertilizers and pesticides was lifted, but it is reported that the relevant gazette notification had not been issued until yesterday (29) evening.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture said that when the ban on chemical fertilizers was enforced, farmers shouted that the carrots and potatoes were small due to the lack of chemical fertilizer, but strangely, two days after the ban was lifted, carrots and potatoes have become larger.

With the lifting of the ban, the price of a kilo of vegetables has come down by about 200 rupees, he said.

“Now the companies say it takes three months to import fertilizers and pesticides. How did the potatoes suddenly get bigger in just two days?” the Minister questioned.
