It is reported that business veteran – Nalaka Perera has been appointed as the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL), following the resignation of M. Uvais Mohamed, who is the brother of Justice minister – Ali Sabry.
The Thera was quoted by the ‘Virakesari’ newspaper as saying that it cannot be expected that justice will be delivered for crimes committed by Zahran as long as Sabry remained as the Justice minister.
Meanwhile, Mano Ganeshan, the leader of the Tamil Progressive Front (TPF), in an FB post, had called this an attempt by a president’s representative trying to force a minister appointed by the President to resign.
Mano Ganeshan has expressed confidence that the presence of ministers like Ali Sabry and Douglas Devananda in the government will allow the issues of the Tamil and Muslim masses receive at least the minimum attention of the government.
Speaking to the media, Ven. Gnanasara Thera has said that there had been a lot of criticism expressed on a personal level over his appointment. “I am waiting patiently and don’t take notice of these,” he had said.
