Former Minister Sagala Ratnayake has been appointed as the National Organizer of the United National Party (UNP).
The appointment was made by party leader and former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara said that the party’s management committee had approved the appointment.
Although the UNP Working Committee had earlier decided to appoint Navin Dissanayake as the National Organizer of the party, the post had been vacant for about a year after Dissanayake refused to accept the post.
The General Secretary of the party Palitha Range Bandara said that the decision to appoint Sagala Ratnayake as the National Organizer will be submitted to the Working Committee of the party and approved.
