Prima increases wheat flour price
Prima Ceylon (Pvt) Limited has said that the price of wheat flour has been increased by Rs. 17.50 per kilogram.
According to the company, the price hike is effective from November 27.
Accordingly, this shows that Prima has increased the wheat flour prices since two days, with no prior announcement.
Noting that this shows that Prima had silently increased wheat flour prices two days ago with no prior announcement, Chairman of the National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection – Ranjith Vithanage slammed the move and said the company has done this in the past as well. He added that they are doing this to create an artificial shortage.
Yesterday (28), the price of bread as well as that of several food items went up.
