Several ‘CEYPETCO’ fuel stations to be given to private sector

The management of a part of the 1,250 filling stations operated by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) will be handed over to private companies in November, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said.

Accordingly, he said that these companies would be given the approval to import, distribute and sell fuel. The minister said 24 companies have submitted tenders and the most qualified companies will be given the opportunity.

The minister expressed these views at the meeting held to review the progress of the programme to handover a part of filling stations operated by the CPC to the private sector suppliers.
