SLFP to present a 15-point proposal to government to resolve crises

Feb 05, Colombo: Observing the political instability that arises amidst various crisis situations faced by the country, government ally, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has prepared a special proposal to hand over to the government.

The media unit of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party said the proposals were approved at the All Ceylon Central Committee meeting of the Party held today.
The All Ceylon Committee meeting of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party was held under the chairmanship of party leader former President Maithripala Sirisena this morning (05) at the Western Province Aesthetic Resort Auditorium in Colombo.
The resolution covers 15 issues, including the economic crisis, green farming and governance.
Speaking to media, party chairman, former President said the SLFP is discussing the proposals with a number of other political parties with the objective of forming an alliance. He added that the party hopes to contest future elections through this alliance.
Responding to a question posed by journalists the General Secretary of the party State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara stated that no decision has been taken to leave the government so far.
The Deputy Chairmen of the party, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva and Prof. Rohana Lakshman, General Secretary of the party, State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara and members of the Central Committee, District Organizers, Electoral Organizers, All Ceylon Committee Members, new officials of the affiliated organizations of the party were also present on this occasion.
