Sri Lanka reports highest single-day Covid-19 death count Thursday with 209 deaths, toll exceeds 8000 mark

Aug 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka Wednesday reported that 209 deaths due to COVID-19 confirmed for Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
The Director General of Health Services has confirmed 209 deaths due to the COVID-19 for Wednesday, August 25.
Among the Tuesday’s deaths, 108 are of males and 101 of females. The majority of the deaths numbering 163 are of elderly people in the 60 years and above age group.
According to the data reported by the Government Information Department, the total deaths due to Covid-19 since the pandemic began has now risen to 8,157 including Tuesday’s deaths.
