Sri Lanka reports nearly 100 Covid-19 deaths Friday, toll rises to 4,919

Aug 06, Colombo: Sri Lanka Friday reported that 98 deaths due to COVID-19 occurred on Thursday, August 05, 2021.
The Director General of Health Services has confirmed that 98 deaths occurred on Thursday, August 05 due to the COVID-19.
Among the Thursday’s deaths, 54 are of males and 44 of females. The majority of the deaths numbering 70 are of elderly people in the 60 years and above age group. One male under 30 years of age has also succumbed to the disease.
According to the data reported by the Government Information Department, the total deaths due to Covid-19 since the pandemic began has now risen to 4,919 including the deaths confirmed Wednesday.
