Sri Lanka revises visa fees and fines

Aug 29, Colombo: The Controller General of the Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced that visa fees and fines have been revised in accordance with the new Immigration and Emigration Regulations contained in Gazette Extraordinary No. 2241/37 dated 18 August 2021.
Accordingly, the Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced that a fine of US $ 500 will be levied on persons staying in Sri Lanka without a visa or in excess of the visa fee.
The department says it charges between $ 40 and $ 200 to obtain a new visa under the relevant visa category.
