Sri Lanka’s Red Data Book finalised in 10 years instead of five

The Ministry of Environment has finalised the amendments to the Red Data Book, detailing flora and fauna in danger of extinction in Sri Lanka.

The book, which is usually updated every five years, was edited after 10 years this time. It was last amended in 2012.

Prepared by the Biodiversity Division of the Ministry of Environment, the new edition comprise nine sections.

The Red Data Book is scheduled to be launched on Friday.
