The Colombo-Kandy train service will resume as usual from tomorrow

Nov 21, Colombo: The Colombo-Kandy train service which was suspended due to inclement weather will be resumed from Monday (22), General Manager of Railways Dhammika Jayasundara said.
Due to landslides threats, the Railway Department suspended train services between Colombo Fort and Kandy on the main line until further notice.
A landslide has damaged two sections of the railway line on the Colombo Fort-Badulla main route between Rambukkana and Kadigamuwa.
The General Manager of the Railways further said the train service from Rambukkana to Balana Railway Station has been suspended due to damage to the track and the restoration of the track is nearing completion.
