It has been decided to permit hotels and restaurants registered under the Tourism Development Authority that provide services including accommodation to tourists, to sell wine and beer, according to the Ministry of Financial Economic Stabilization and National Policy.
The Ministry further stated that this decision was taken as a strategic step to promote the tourism industry and that the annual license for the sale of soft liquor will be issued at a cost of Rs. 25,000.
