Colombo Additional Magistrate Chandima Liyanage yesterday (Oct. 10) granted permission to former Coordinating Secretary to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Uditha Lokubandara to travel abroad.
Uditha Lokubandara, a defendant in a maintenance case, was earlier barred from traveling abroad by a court order.
Uditha Lokubandara had requested the court yesterday through his lawyer of his need to travel abroad.
After considering the request, the Additional Magistrate decided to temporarily lift the travel ban and directed the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to be notified.
Accordingly, the court granted permission to Uditha Lokubandara to travel abroad from tomorrow (12) to the 25th.
Meanwhile, Udith Sanjaya Lokubandara, a former Member of Parliament, has also been accused of stealing money from the Prime Minister’s personal bank account.
