Allegations leveled at two players citing that they had underperformed to unsettle the emerging cricket team, are baseless, ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ learns.
Claims further stated that coaching staff had given a final warning to a top-order batsman & spin-allrounder, for sabotaging T20 series against South Africa and that selectors are to meet with the SLC hierarchy in next 24 hours on the issue
Speaking to ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket – Ashley de Silva said that such media reports are completely false.
Noting that meetings of coaching staff as well as advising players are normal incidents, the SLC CEO says that levelling such allegations without proof, is regrettable.
Reliable sources also say that head coach Mickey Arthur too, has refuted these claims and is stunned by them.
Meanwhile, field sources also say that these claims are merely levelled to distract attention from the recent defeats.
