Vans distributed to 09 districts for Covid control activities

July 20, Colombo: With the objective to properly maintain Covid-19 control activities and to improve health systems, nine NISSAN URVAN vans were distributed among the provinces today (20) under the patronage of the Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi at the premises of the Ministry of Health.
The vans received from the Ministry of Health in coordination with the Health System Improvement Project funded by the Asian Development Bank are valued at around Rs. 90 million.
The Ministry of Health has taken steps to provide these vans to the Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya Districts in the Central Province, the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa Districts in the North Central Province, the Badulla and Moneragala Districts in the Uva Province and the Ratnapura and Kegalle Districts in the Sabaragamuwa Province.
Secretary to the Ministry of Health Major General Specialist Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, Director General of Health Services, and Dr. Anil Dissanayake, Director of the Health System Improvement Project were also present.
