From Tuesday (Aug. 17) midnight, weddings at reception halls or at homes will not be permitted until further notice, a press release from the Department of Government Information says.
The decision has been taken in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
The media release adds that there will also be no room for public gatherings from today midnight (15).
Restaurants are permitted to allow dine-in customers only at 50% seating capacity.
However, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) – General Shavendra Silva urges the public to avoid frequenting public places as much as possible.
